Save time computing time with CompuTime

Time for a new calculator and a new calculator for time! CompuTime instantly calculates time entered in any combination of hours, minutes, and seconds.

For example, what is 3'42" + 39 seconds?

This tool is invaluable for a wide variety of situations, whether you’re breaking down track listings for a vinyl to MP3 conversion, calculating racing times, or even putting together a meeting agenda with allocated times for each item.

It's particularly useful when converting your old vinyl LP collection to MP3 (although vinyl is making a come back). All the tracks are saved in one big MP3 file and you have to extract each track from the MP3 file.

Song 1 is easy. You look at the cover of the LP, it tells you the length of the song is 3:45. Therefore, Song 1 starts at 0 seconds and ends around 3:45.

Song 2 obviously starts after 3:45. Song 2 goes for 4:28.

Song 3 therefore starts at 3:45 + 4:28 = 8:13.

Of course, it's easy to work it out but you have a computer in your hand, so why not use it?

If you like, you can even send your last computed result via iMessage to others.

Soon you’ll wonder how you did without it!

It does not calculate fractions of time less than a second though. The only time that'll happen is if you divide a time, e.g. 1 second / 2. In this case, you'll get "0".

The decision was taken not to calculate fractions because of the likelihood of it being used.

We'll implement it in the future if there's a huge demand for it.

If you ever need to perform some time computation, try CompuTime!
